Reasonable Accommodations:

If you or a family member has a disability and as a result of the disability you need:

  • A modification to our rules or policies;
  • A change in the way we communicate with you or give you information;
  • An alteration or change in your home (for residents of Authority-managed units);
  • An accessible apartment (for residents of Authority-managed units); or
  • An alteration or change to some other part of a Housing Authority owned property

You may ask for this kind of change by requesting a reasonable accommodation.

If you provide proof you have a disability and if your request is reasonable (it does not pose "an undue financial or administrative burden"), we will try to make the change you request.

Your first step is to complete a REASONABLE ACCOMODATION REQUEST. Form is available at the Housing Authority of the City of Yuma, 420 S. Madison Avenue, or from any Housing Authority representative. You may complete the form or you may have the help of a family member or other person you designate. If you require further assistance please contact your Housing Authority representative.

We will respond in writing after receiving the information we need. We will let you know if we need more information or other verification from you. If your request is denied we will give you an opportunity to appeal and provide us with additional information.
